Managing labels/tags on Blogger

Labels (or tags) are used on blogs to categories posts and to help the reader find relevant information. For us as teachers, sensible labelling is essential for us to be able to find what we want to mark and, fir students, they need to find the posts on our blogs that link to the assignment they need. However, it's really easy to end up with far too many and it becoming confusing and really annoying. On all my assignment briefs, I very clearly tell them what I'd like them to label connected posts with. Some fo them manage it really well.....

But some are a total nightmare....

When you (or your students) start a blog, it's important that you decide straight away how you are going to label and then stick to it. After a few posts, it becomes apparent how the system works and makes everyone's life easier. Labelling by course (if you teach on a few), by unit or by project is a simple and effective system. Just find something simple that works for you.
