Nearpod - interactive classes

Nearpod is a web-based tool for creating interactive lessons. You create slides with images, video clips or text, import pdfs or powerpoint presentations and intersperse these with interactive activities that students can join in with either on their phones, tablets or computers.

It's free (and super fast) to create a teacher account. You then create your lesson. When you deliver the lesson, you can choose to make it student paced or live. Student paced is useful if you want it to happen outside class time or have some students who have very low literacy levels and might find it hard to keep up but live is great for keeping the whole class active and focused. As soon as you share the session, a simple code is generated.

Students go to nearpod.com on their chosen device and enter the code. You can choose to ask them to submit their names or stay anonymous, whichever is most appropriate. they then follow the slides and you can gather their responses in a report at the end and even distribute this to them as a resource.
